The Canadian dollar was lower as it appeared increasingly likely that Canadians will be heading to the polls after the three opposition parties turned their thumbs down on the Conservative government’s new budget.

The loonie backed off 0.32 of a cent to 101.73 cents US as the greenback strengthened against a variety of currencies.

The May crude contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 40 cents to US$105.37 a barrel after jumping almost US$2 on Tuesday as unrest in the Mideast kept traders nervous about possible crude supply disruptions.

The energy sector declined 0.25 per cent with Suncor Energy (TSX:SU) down 23 cents to $44.49 while Imperial Oil (TSX:IMO) was ahead 36 cents to $50.90.

Oil has jumped 24 per cent since February 14, 2011.

Financial institutions see Non-Resident applicants as a greater risk. They require a minimum down payment of 35% from the applicants own resources. Institutions will also require an international credit report or reference from your current financial institution.

Vancouver, B.C., Canada March 22, 2011 – Clearlease reports that traders reluctant to make any significant moves, stocks are turning in a lackluster performance in morning trading on Tuesday. Uncertainty about the near-term outlook for the markets may be contributing to the lack of direction.

The major averages are currently turning in a mixed performance, lingering near the unchanged line. While the S&P 500 is down 0.29 points at 1,298.09, the Dow is up 7.22 points at 12,043.75 and the Nasdaq is up 0.57 points at 2,692.66.

Oil prices rose Monday in response to violence in Libya and unrest in Yemen, carrying the stock prices of Canadian energy companies with them.

The benchmark S&P/TSX composite index was up 224.07 points, or 1.62 per cent, to 14,013.70, with strong gains posted in both the energy and materials sectors. Benchmark oil prices rose $1.26 US on Monday to close at $102.33 a barrel, and Brent crude was up 90 cents to $114.83. Gold gained $10.30 to $1,426.40 an ounce and the Canadian dollar was up 66 basis points to 102.07 cents against the greenback.

Clearlease reports Canada’s economy will grow by 3.2% this year, assuming rising American demand for consumer goods and autos.

Vancouver, B.C., Canada March 17, 2011 – Clearlease announces Canada’s economy will grow by 3.2% this year, assuming rising American demand for consumer goods and autos, according to a report issued Friday by Royal Bank of Canada (RY on TSX and NYSE).

Economists at the bank predict net exports such as cars and commodities will boost economic growth this year and next, as those industries account for two-thirds of Canada’s goods sold abroad.

The report from RBC Economics says Saskatchewan will lead the country in growth, followed by Newfoundland and Labrador and Alberta.

Ontario and Manitoba will stay close to the national average while other provinces will fall below.
